Job Description

The Backend Engineer will be responsible for implementing product changes, undertaking detailed design, programming, unit testing, integration testing, deployment & maintenance. They will provide end-to-end technical ownership on backend services, lead the backend team, guide architecture, coding standards, and best practices, investigate and resolve software defects, and work with product management to translate business requirements into effective stories. The engineer will develop and test software components, create test data, and work with the quality assurance team.
Must have:
  • 8-12 years of software development experience
  • Expert-level Java, Springboot & Microservices knowledge
  • Proficient in Flowable & BPMN/ DMN/CMMN
  • In-depth understanding on relational databases like MySQL/SQL
  • Strong grasp of design models and database structures
  • Proficient in Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS services
  • Well versed with Maven & Git
  • Experience in developing web services using REST and SOAP APIs
  • Well versed with IDEs such as Eclipse, IntelliJ etc.
  • Ability to lead and manage feature development independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Quality-driven work ethic
  • Adheres to code quality standards
  • Able to function effectively in a geographically diverse team
  • Proficient in GRPC
  • Exposure to front-end technologies like React, Angular etc.

The Opportunity

"We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our development team to assist in the continuing evolution of our Platform Orchestration product. You will be able to demonstrate the required potential and technical curiosity to work on software that utilizes a range of leading-edge technologies and integration frameworks. What You’ll Contribute

  • Implement product changes, undertaking detailed design, programming, unit testing, integration testing, deployment & maintenance, as required by our SDLC process.
  • Provide end‑to‑end technical ownership on backend services.
  • Provide leadership to the backend team; guide architecture, coding standards and best practices.
  • Investigate and resolve reported software defects across supported platforms.
  • Work in conjunction with product management to understand business requirements and convert them into effective stories that will enhance the current product offering.
  • Provide realistic and achievable task estimates for the stories. This information will form part of a larger release delivery plan.
  • Develop and test software components with high scalability and reliability.
  • Design and execute unit, link and integration test plans and document test results. Create test data and environments as necessary to support the required level of testing.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team and assist with integration testing, system testing, acceptance testing and implementation.
  • Produce detailed documentation of DEV testing scenarios, highlighting problem statement, approach for the fix & test cases validated,
  • Participate in review sessions, approval of PRs, validate other team members' tasks & guide them if any blockers.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

What We’re Seeking

  • 8-12 years of software development experience with at least 3 years in technical leadership role.
  • Expert-level Java, Springboot & Microservices programming knowledge.
  • Proficient in Flowable & BPMN/ DMN/CMMN.
  • In-depth understanding on relational databases like MySQL/SQL.
  • Strong foundation and grasp of design models and database structures.
  • Proficient in Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS services.
  • Well versed with Maven & Git.
  • Experience in developing web services using REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Well versed with IDEs such as Eclipse, IntelliJ etc.
  • Ability to lead and manage feature development independently.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate information clearly with architects, and discuss strategy/requirements with team members and the product manager.
  • Quality-driven work ethic with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Adheres to code quality standards and software engineering processes.
  • Able to function effectively in a geographically diverse team.
  • Proficient in GRPC.
  • Exposure to front-end technologies like React, Angular etc.
