Job Summary

Job Description

DNEG Animation seeks a Lead Compositor to join their London studio. The role involves composing CG, MGFX, and DMP elements, integrating complex CG and hybrid cuts for feature animation projects. Responsibilities include close collaboration with VFX Supervisors and Comp Supervisors, participating in client reviews, developing creative solutions, providing team feedback, and maintaining sequence look and continuity. The ideal candidate possesses over 3 years of VFX/animation compositing experience on high-end projects, proficiency in Nuke (including projections and 2.5D work), and a passion for creating beautiful images. The position requires strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Must have:

3+ years VFX/animation compositing experience
Proficient in Nuke (projections, 2.5D)
Experience with full CG and hybrid shots
Collaboration and communication skills

Good to have:

Knowledge of photography and lighting
Experience with tool development

This is an Active Role for a January start date. Please apply if you live close to London and have the right to work in the UK as this is a quick start date.

Since 2014 DNEG’s Feature Animation division has been collaborating with filmmakers and IP owners to create high-end animated feature films. Currently in production on major animated features we are looking for new talent to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities

DNEG Animation is a leader in stylized and realistic effects focused on a variety of animation projects.

At DNEG Animation, Lead Compositors work closely with VFX Supervisors, Comp Supervisors and Lighters to compose multiple CG, MGFX and DMP elements that will complement the visual effects of a cut. The work is dedicated to the integration of complex CG, this means that compositors must be comfortable working with full CG and hybrid cuts. Our Lead Compositors are part of daily client reviews and sessions and follow production methodologies to develop creative solutions to problems while performing all aspects of VFX Design composition. Lead compositors will support the Comp supervisor where needed, giving feedback, communicating with the team, developing tools and maintaining the look and continuity of sequences.

Job Requirements

Over 3 Years experience in the VFX/Animation industry as a compositor of high-end projects
Good knowledge of the VFX/feature film animation pipeline
Good knowledge of handling and working with fully CG shots
Experience in Nuke
Good knowledge of projections in Nuke (and any 2.5D work)

Additional Skills

Interested in feature-length animation
Passionate about creating beautiful images
Knowledge of and interest in photography and practical lighting
