The Role:

As a Lead Engine and Tools Programmer at our client's esteemed gaming studio, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development of the studio’s game engine and tools. Your expertise in programming and leadership will be crucial in designing, implementing, and optimizing the core technologies that power the studio's games. Collaborating closely with other programmers, artists, and designers, you will ensure that the tools and engine deliver outstanding performance and functionality. Based in Bellevue, this role offers an exciting opportunity to lead technical innovation and contribute to the creation of world-class gaming experiences.



Responsibilities:


  • Lead the development and optimization of the game engine and tools.
  • Design, implement, and maintain core engine systems and features.
  • Collaborate with artists, designers, and other programmers to ensure tools meet the needs of the development team.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges to enhance performance and functionality.
  • Mentor and guide junior programmers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in game development.
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure coding standards are maintained.
  • Optimize engine performance for various platforms and devices.



Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an Engine and Tools Programmer, with a strong portfolio of game development projects.
  • Proficiency in C++ and other relevant programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of game engine architecture and development.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Experience with performance optimization and multithreading.
  • Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and guide a team.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for gaming and staying updated with industry advancements.
