ABOUT THE POSITION
For our studio located in Montpellier, working on high expertise level projects (engineering, rendering), we are looking for a Lead C++ Programmer passionate about programming, eager to train and lead a small team of programmers to deliver high tech projects.
Customer satisfaction, external or internal, is an important part of your motivation as well as working with international teams from other Virtuos studios (Lyon, Paris, Dublin, Shanghai, Chengdu, Singapore). You are eager to achieve technical challenges and get your team grow in many areas of expertise, from engine programming to rendering.
You report to the Studio technical director and will be responsible for a small team of programmers (engine, rendering).
With your team, you work on :
- The goals definition using Agile methodology;
- The improvement of game engines (Unreal Engine 5 and / or proprietary game engines) on PC and on consoles of the latest generation (Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch);
- The improvement or optimization of graphics rendering (DirectX 12 and Vulkan);
- You will be responsible for the recruitment, training and career development of your team;
- You will assess the risks and propose mitigation together with the Technical director.
Must have
- You have at least five years of experience as a C++ programmer or lead programmer in the video game industry of which one year as a team lead;
- You have worked on at least one video game that has been published;
- You have at least a first successful experience using the Agile methodology;
- You are proficient in Unreal Engine (4 or 5) or a proprietary game engine;
- You have good knowledge of multithreaded programming, low-level programming and code optimization;
- Knowledge of rendering (DirectX 11 and 12, OpenGL, Vulkan, PBR rendering...);
- You have a good knowledge of mathematics, especially linear algebra;
- You are comfortable in English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have
- An experience developing a AAA game;
- A shared development experience across multiple sites;
- Knowledge of C# (WinForms or WPF).
