Job Description

As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you will be responsible for driving technical direction, mentoring and empowering your team, and collaborating with other teams to deliver scalable UI/UX solutions for the CSG Quote & Order product. You will be the go-to person for technical decisions, and you will play a key role in defining UI/UX development standards, architecture, and best practices. You will be expected to spend 50% of your time on product development. You will also be responsible for helping shape the technical roadmap, architecting and designing complex features, addressing inefficiencies, resolving bottlenecks, and evaluating new tools and frameworks.
Must have:
  • 7+ years of experience in Front-end fundamentals (HTML, Javascript, CSS).
  • Experience in product (software) design, product development, or implementation.
  • Effective at communicating and collaborating across multiple teams.
  • Good knowledge of building user-friendly UI/UX with modern CSS frameworks.
  • Experience in contemporary JavaScript frameworks (i.e: Angular or React, NodeJS).
  • Experience in leading projects and teams.

Our Product & Team

This role is within the team that designs and develops CSQ Quote & Order, a cutting-edge order management and quoting (CPQ) platform. Built using the latest technology, our platform modernizes industries like telecommunications and banking.

About our technology

Our product frontend is built using the Angular framework and web component technology. We are currently moving towards a micro-frontend architecture and would love to have you on board for the journey!

Our backend is super modern adopting a microservice architecture for scalability and flexibility, using Kafka for event streaming and PostgreSQL for data storage.

We use Kubernetes to orchestrate our containers, allowing us to offer cloud (AWS & Azure) and on-premise deployment options of our platform. Our infrastructure is maintained by a state-of-the-art gitops/IaC pipeline.

We heavily lean on open-source tools and libraries, as well as maintaining our own, to make development faster, simpler, and more consistent. Our code is managed using Git, undergoes peer review before we test, package and deploy through our CI/CD pipelines.

About the role

As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you will drive technical direction, mentor and empower your team, and collaborate across squads to deliver robust, scalable UI/X solutions for the CSG Quote & Order product. You’ll be the go-to person for technical decisions and will play a key role in defining our UI/X development standards, architecture, and best practices.
 

In your first 90 days, you’ll get comfortable with our system, build strong relationships across the Quote & Order team, and design new features to deliver awesome outcomes for our customers.

What you'll do

  • Help shape our technical roadmap, aligning system architecture and development priorities with long-term business goals.

  • Code software! We want 50% of your time to be spent working on product development.

  • Champion clean, efficient code by giving thoughtful PR feedback and holding the team to high standards.

  • Architect and design complex features to translate customer needs into impactful, features and user-friendly UI/X.

  • Be a real multiplier on your team’s efficiency. Proactively address inefficiencies/blockers, critically assess your team's performance, and provide targeted coaching so others can level up their skills.

  • Take ownership across our systems. Spot inefficiencies, resolve bottlenecks and keep everything running like clockwork.

  • Evaluate new tools, frameworks, and trends to keep us at the forefront of innovation and productivity.

Role requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering or equivalent experience and expertise.

  • At least 7+ years of experience in Front-end fundamentals (HTML, Javascript, CSS).

  • Experience in product (software) design, product development, and/or product implementation.

  • Highly effective at communicating and collaborating across multiple teams, ensuring understanding of written and verbal discussion of material and completion of projects on schedule.

  • Good knowledge of building user-friendly UI/UX with modern CSS frameworks (i.e: Tailwind, Bootstrap, Material Design), and software development methodologies, including unit testing

  • Experience in contemporary JavaScript frameworks (i.e: Angular or React, NodeJS)

  • Experience in leading projects and teams
