The technical product owner at CME Group has a deep technical background in the technologies they own, and drives the scope and delivery plans for development in their product. They are accountable for the roadmap, the backlog, technical direction, and the prioritisation of work. The product owner should work closely with all areas of the organization to ensure iterative, timely, transparent and relevant releases.
This product owner would be accountable for our foundational platform’s middleware product. This includes a number of technologies in use, or planned for use in the future such as Kafka, Vault, Consu, IBM MQ, and a number of GCP technologies. They would be accountable not only for the current state implementations, but also driving the roadmap for the underlying functions they are providing.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Gathering requirements from development, architecture, and operations teams
Creating user stories and acceptance criteria
Building features and roadmaps for each of the technology stacks
Prioritizing backlog and reporting productivity back to stakeholders
Refining the product backlog
Assessing new product ideas and attributing value
Creation and Adherence to key SLOs
Fulfill additional / ad hoc duties as required in order to meet the needs of the organization.
EXPERIENCE:
Release planning and prioritizing
Creating and sizing Features and Stories and planning into sprints
Writing Acceptance criteria, requirement gathering
Understanding of platform architectures
Messaging (Kafka, Google PubSub, Tibco FTL, IBM MQ, etc)
File Delivery (SFTP, GCS, S3, etc)
Configuration Management (Consul, GKE Config Maps, etc)
Secrets Management (Hashicorp Vault, Cyberark, etc)
Analytical mindset and can-do attitude
Ability to plan, estimate and deliver to timeframes in conjunction with Tech Leads and the Product Manager
