Lightspeed LA seeks a Lead QA to manage a team, create comprehensive test plans using test management software, monitor quality metrics, and communicate findings. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of game development QA experience, 2+ years of team management, and experience with bug databases and test plan development. About the Hiring Team

Welcome to Lightspeed LA, the first U.S.-based, AAA game development studio for Tencent Games. Lightspeed LA is focused on building open-world games that emphasize an ambitious living world, sophisticated player-driven gameplay, and mature, thoughtful storytelling. What the Role Entails

LightSpeed LA is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Lead QA to join us in sunny Irvine California. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for games and enabling developers to deliver the most polished experience for our players. Join our team of industry veterans and help us build a team and culture of respect that pushes boundaries while having lots of fun.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain a culture of fast iteration and practical problem solving.
  • Manage a team of QA testers and own quality of team deliverables.
  • Create comprehensive test plans to ensure coverage of the game through test management software.
  • Create, monitor, and control metrics impacting product and team quality.
  • Communicate QA findings, updates, and assessments with internal and external team members.
  • Maintain well versed knowledge of the overall game, development processes, and test tools in support of the project.

Who We Look For

  • Passion for games and the tech that makes them come to life.
  • 5+ years of experience as a game developer with a focus on quality assurance.
  • 2+ years of experience in team management.
  • Experience working in a bug database and developing test plans.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other team leaders and gather requirements.
  • Experience prioritizing problems and providing solutions.
  • High comfort level extending and improving testing procedures and methodologies to match a project's development cycle.
     

Preferred:

  • Shipped a game on PC and Consoles.
  • Experience with web services, productivity, and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with AAA asset and code pipelines.
  • Familiarity with console build and deploy pipelines.
  • Experience with source control systems such as Perforce.

The base pay range for this position in the state(s) above is $73,440.0 to $154,440.0 per year. Actual pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, as well as other medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the specific position offered.
