Lead QA Engineer

Team, about the role

We have big plans for the development and growth of our products, which is why we are looking for the most capable experts to join our testing teams.

We are looking for a Lead QA Engineer who'll help take the quality of our games to the next level. Our QA engineers are actively involved in the entire product development life cycle, from requirements generation to post-release support and automation. You'll have the opportunity to directly influence the product and have an active role in the department's growth and development.

Tasks

  • Providing quality control and testing of game features on mobile platforms at all product development life cycle stages. Making decisions on feature quality, managing bug debt, and taking responsibility for the quality of the delivered product at the team level.
  • Management and development of a team of QA Engineers (2-5 people), including motivation, technical assessment, supporting employee development, determining the required team composition and its qualifications, conducting technical interviews, and participating in hiring.
  • Estimation, planning, prioritization, and distribution of tasks at the team level.
  • Implementing changes and optimizing processes and approaches within the team, as well as monitoring compliance.

Our stack

  • We perform manual testing on many platforms (the main ones are iOS and Android), use TeamCity to assemble builds, and use Git as our version control system.
  • We use Qase to work with test cases and track crashes in Sentry.
  • Data analysis is conducted with Amplitude.
  • We also use: BrowserStack, ADB/AppCat, Charles Proxy, 3uTools and more.
  • We automate tests in Python, Pytest, and Appium

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in managing, developing, and evaluating a QA team
  • Excellent knowledge and ability to apply testing theory in practice
  • Knowledge of the specifics of mobile applications, as well as the details of their testing, development, and release
  • Understanding git flow, CI/CD processes, and client-server functionality testing
  • Experience in implementing and optimizing processes
  • Excellent self-organization and work-planning skills
  • Proactivity, developed communication skills, flexibility

Preferred

  • Experience in test automation (ideally in Python)
  • Understanding of the specifics of casual and match-3 games
  • Experience working with analytical systems, as well as experience in analyzing complex technical systems with a large amount of data
