Job Description

The Lead Quality Engineer will join a collaborative, agile product development team responsible for delivering high-quality software for the Analytics product. The role involves developing testing programs, leading quality control activities, evaluating product requirements, developing and maintaining test scripts, resolving issues, recommending improvements, and building positive relationships with the team. The engineer will also be responsible for communication and ensuring understanding of tasks. The job requires analysing software and quality requirements and documenting test plans, as well as designing, developing, reviewing, and implementing test strategies. The role involves assessing and reporting on software risk and release readiness. This also requires a track record of building test automation for backend services, including API.
Must have:
  • Analyse software and quality requirements and document test plans

  • Experience with automation frameworks like Pytest, Cucumber, JMeter
  • Experience with DevOps tooling including GitLab and pipelines

Role Description:

We are seeking an expert Lead Quality Engineer to join a highly collaborative, multi-functional, agile product development team responsible for delivering high quality and timely software systems for our Analytics product in Analytics division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops testing programmes throughout the entire technologies’ lifecycles that address areas such as functionality, compatibility, reliability and usability.

  • Leads a wide range of quality control planning and execution activities in alignment with the organisation's standards and strategy to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified business and customer needs.

  • Brings together testing requirements by evaluating the product requirement specifications (functional / non-functional) and raise clarifications with product owners, business analysts and customers.

  • Develops, performs and maintains test scripts/cases autonomously– manual, automation, performance, and supporting analysis. Assigns required tests to Associates.

  • Leads the ongoing maintenance of customer technologies, resolving issues and intensifying where vital.

  • Recommends and supports the implementation of improvements to quality control frameworks, processes and standard methodologies.

  • Builds positive relationships with team and colleagues, collaborating closely with the team.

  • Communicates clearly with team and keeps clear lines of communication open to ensure full understanding of tasks, asking questions where needed.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills:

Crucial Skills and Experience

  • Analyse software and quality requirements and document test plans.

  • Design, develop, review and implement integration, system, acceptance and end-to-end test strategies.

  • Assess and report on software risk and release readiness.

  • Proven track record in building test automation for backend services solutions including API, working with programming languages Python/Java, and api test or database automation.

  • Automation and manual testing for multi-tier, on prem and cloud based coordinated solutions.

  • Hands-on experiences with automation frameworks like Pytest, Cucumber, JMeter, etc.

  • Experience with DevOps tooling including GitLab, pipelines. Understanding of CICD methodology.

  • Understanding of financial markets, experience testing financial software a plus.
