Job Description

The Lead Quality Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of test functions within the ForexClear team, collaborating with agile squads and the broader Quality team. This role involves designing test scenarios, creating and enhancing automation packs, executing tests, reporting results, and working with the team to resolve issues. The engineer will also identify and escalate risks, provide process improvement feedback, and support external testing phases. This role requires strong communication and time management skills. The engineer will work on projects related to strategic and tactical changes across commercial, resilience, and regulatory aspects of the ForexClear operations. The role requires experience with various testing techniques and technologies.
Must have:
  • Lead automation tool enhancement and practices
  • Design efficient functional and non-functional test cases
  • Design, create and enhance test automation packs
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies
  • Experience with Forex instruments and clearing workflows
Good to have:
  • Experience with Agile testing delivery
  • Test automation on Murex and/or Java
  • Experience with clearing and/or investment banking testing
  • Knowledge of Defect Management using JIRA and Zephyr
  • Experience with SQL and Cucumber

ForexClear Lead Quality Engineer

ForexClear team delivers strategic and tactical change across the commercial, resilience and regulatory space in an agile manner.

A Lead Quality Engineer is required to perform a wide range of test functions across these areas. The role will cover different work streams within ForexClear Quality and will involve working closely with the respective agile squad and broader Quality team. The Lead Quality Engineer additionally will liaise with any relevant parts within the organisation including quality groups, business analysts, development, business operations, risk and support.

The successful candidate will have strong Quality engineering background with experience of a variety of test design techniques, technologies and have business domain expertise and experience of delivery in complex fast-moving environments. Excellent communication skills and time management will be vital in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead automation tool enhancement and practices.
  • Champion quality within ForexClear.
  • Improvements to Mx and Java automation framework.
  • Design efficient functional and non-functional test scenarios and cases ensuring there is traceability back to all business requirements.
  • Prepare the testing data.
  • Implementing test plans to deliver test phases on time when required.
  • Design, creation and enhancement of the test automation packs.
  • Maintenance and execution of tests, recording of results and undertaking defect retesting.
  • Reporting progress and issues clearly and concisely.
  • Running test environments.
  • Work with the team to resolve issues.
  • Work to agreed timescales.
  • Identify risks and escalate to the project stakeholders.
  • Providing feedback and implementation where process improvements are suitable.
  • Support external testing phases as required.

Key Skills

  • Degree in computer science, engineering or mathematics
  • ISTQB or ISEB Software Testing Qualification
  • SDLC methodologies
  • Foreign Exchange instruments (NDF, NDO, Option, Forward, Spot)
  • FpML, FIXML, SWIFT and XML
  • Clearing workflows
  • Risk management
  • Regulatory reporting (incl. CFTC, EMIR, BoE...)
