Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Systems Engineer to spearhead our business continuity and disaster recovery efforts. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the resilience and continuity of our systems and operations in the face of unforeseen disruptions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of system architecture, robust problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to mitigating risks while working with numerous cross functional departments to achieve these goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans: Lead the design, development, and implementation of comprehensive disaster recovery plans for our critical systems and infrastructure.
- Risk assessment and mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate potential threats to business continuity.
- System monitoring and maintenance: Establish and maintain robust monitoring systems to detect potential failures or disruptions in real-time and implement proactive measures to prevent downtime.
- Coordinate recovery exercises: Organize and lead regular disaster recovery exercises to test the effectiveness of recovery plans and identify areas for improvement.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of disaster recovery procedures, incident reports, and post-mortem analyses to facilitate continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaboration and training: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of disaster recovery efforts with business objectives and provide training to stakeholders on disaster response procedures.
- Required to be a part of 24 x 7 On Call Rotation and occasional work outside normal business hours for change windows or incidents.
- Extensive experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field, with at least 5 years of experience in system engineering or a similar role, with a focus on business continuity and disaster recovery. Thorough understanding of how to architect an infrastructure, system, and application architecture for Active / Warm datacenters with a goal to move to Active / Active datacenters.
- Work Experience: Previous experience working on business continuity and disaster recovery for MSP or on-prem SaaS provider with critical workloads with low RPO and RTO requirements.
- Technical proficiency: Proficiency in system architecture for MSP or SaaS providers, virtualization technologies, cloud infrastructure, backup and disaster recovery tools and methodologies.
- Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate potential issues and develop effective solutions.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership abilities: Proven leadership experience, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment.

- Rubrik and Veeam Backup Solutions
- VMware ESX and NSX
- Fortigate Firewall
- Citrix Netscaler Load Balancer
- Citrix DaaS Virtual Apps
- Windows Server and Active Directory
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Additional Details
- Remote Work: Position is open for remote work if candidate has the resources available to be productive at home and there are no regulations that prohibit productive work remotely.
- : The candidate is required to be a part of an On-Call rotation.
- Background Check (US, Canada, Colombia): The successful candidate will need to successfully complete the following clearances: Criminal History Check, Education Verification, Employment Verification, Driver’s License Verification and Passport/ID validation.
- Reference Check (England, Spain): The successful candidate will need to provide a minimum or 3 professional references and employment will be contingent upon successful reference checks
- Visa Sponsorship: Employment eligibility to work with Quorum Software in the US or Colombia or Canada or Spain or England (depending on the current residence and the location the successful candidate is hired into) is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position. The successful candidate will be required to ensure they maintain and renew any visas or permits that grant employment eligibility where applicable. - Current professional card or registration in Colombia (if applicable): The successful candidate will be required to present their professional card or registration information if the role is deemed to be regulated.
- Onboarding Medical (Colombia): The successful candidate will be required to undergo an onboarding medical examination prior to commencement of employment, in accordance with Colombian legislation.
