Job Description

This Legal Trainee role at Google in Stockholm, Sweden, offers a 12-month fixed-term contract starting between February and March 2025. You'll respond to legal requests from users and third parties, assist in court proceedings, contribute to projects like product localization and marketing assessments, conduct legal research across various areas (intellectual property, consumer regulations, data protection, etc.), and help maintain internal knowledge bases. The role requires strong legal judgment, quick learning, and confident communication. You'll gain insight into the legal challenges of the information age and contribute to developing internet law within a dynamic environment.

Must have:

LL.M from Nordic University
Fluent English & one Nordic language
Relationship building & communication skills
Legal research & analysis
Respond to legal requests
Assist in court proceedings

Good to have:

Experience in law firm or media/tech company
Project management in fast-paced environment

Minimum qualifications:

Master's degree in Law (LL.M) from a Nordic University.
Experience building relationships and communicating with individuals at all levels of an organization.
Ability to communicate in English and one of the Nordic languages (i.e., Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish or Icelandic) fluently to support client relationship management in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in legal analysis and research.
Experience working on numerous projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in a law firm, or a media/technology company.

As a Legal Trainee, you will help to respond to legal challenges of the information age. You will get an insight into a variety of legal challenges at Google and YouTube, while promoting the development of internet law in an unconventional environment. In this role, you will get the opportunity to demonstrate that you have sound legal judgment, can learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, and can communicate confidently at all levels.

Available to start between February to March 2025 for a 12 months fixed-term contract.

Responsibilities

Respond to various legal requests from users and third-parties in relation to Google services and be the first point of contact for internal teams.
Assist the Legal team in the analysis, preparation and/or the management of court proceedings.
Assist in a variety of projects, such as the localization of Google products, marketing assessments, the review and drafting of agreements.
Conduct legal research on a variety of legal topics (e.g., intellectual property, consumer regulations, media regulations, marketing law, data protection, AI, etc.).
Participate in the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge databases for the Legal team.
