Ubisoft is looking for a Level Artist to join the art teams for Beyond Good and Evil 2 at its Montpellier Production Studio.
You will work on level art, modeling environments, and creating textures while adhering to the game's artistic direction.
Upon your arrival, you will need to understand the design documents to familiarize yourself with the environments, objectives, atmospheres, story, and style to create the levels. You will also need to get acquainted with Voyager (the engine on which BGE2 is developed) before being responsible for the proper integration of elements, considering technical and gameplay constraints.
Subsequently, you will be responsible for implementing the level art. You will propose ideas and concepts that align with the established artistic direction. You will design and create the necessary architectures for the map based on the specifications (technical, artistic) and gameplay intentions.
You will be in constant contact with the environment artists working on the project. Collectively, you will support each other and ensure the coherence of the levels. You will also contribute to enriching the team’s expertise by sharing your knowledge.
You must ensure the effective use of the project management tools at your disposal.
You have at least 5 years of experience working on AAA game productions.
You are skilled in modeling and texturing optimized complex environments, while adhering to technical constraints within a given artistic direction. You are comfortable creating asset kits and possess an excellent sense of composition.
You are autonomous, organized, and have excellent interpersonal skills. You show initiative and enjoy working in a fast-paced team environment. You like to seek out and provide solutions that benefit everyone. You are able to share your ideas and develop them through collaboration with your lead and team.
You have strong artistic abilities and a good understanding of art culture. You pay attention to subtle details and have a keen sense of observation.
You are proficient in modeling with 3DS MAX and Blender.
You are curious and have experience working with AI (conducting research, proposing ideas, exploring design concepts).
Feel free to share your portfolio and work with us.
