Firaxis Games is seeking an Online Services Engineer to enhance its games with services like matchmaking, player stats, leaderboards, analytics, entitlement platforms, anti-cheat, security, and customer service tools. The role involves working with internal and external online services platforms, designing and implementing code modifications, collaborating with the game team, and staying updated with industry innovations. The engineer will be expected to advocate for the game team and become a domain expert in online services.

Must have:

Strong C++ programming and debugging skills.
Understanding of analytics and telemetry.
3+ years industry experience.
Ability to come up with inventive solutions.
Adhere to prevalent coding style and practices.
Self-motivated and passionate about games.
Able and motivated to work with other team members.

Good to have:

Experience with Go programming language.
Strong AWS knowledge.
Experience with Perforce, JIRA, TeamCity.
Experience with current console systems.
Experience with online service architectures.

Online Services Programmer

What You Will Do:

Work closely with internal and external online services platform teams, advocating for the game team.
Become a domain expert for our internal and external online service platforms.
Design and implement modifications, reorganizations, extensions, and optimizations to existing code base.
Work closely with the game team to build and maintain online service functionality within game clients.
Actively maintain skill-set and knowledge base by keeping track of the latest innovations from the industry.

What We Need (Requirements/Must Haves)

Strong C++ programming and debugging skills.
Experience with Go programming language is a plus.
Strong AWS knowledge is a plus.
Strong understanding of analytics and telemetry.
Experience with Perforce, JIRA, TeamCity is a plus.
Experience with online service architectures, design patterns, and associated challenges.
Ability to come up with novel, inventive, solutions to very hard problems in the gaming and online services spaces.
Ability to adhere to the prevalent coding style and practices.
Self-motivated and passionate about games.
Able and motivated to work with other team members.
3+ years industry experience.
Experience with current console systems is a plus.
