This internship with Tesla's Freight Pay Audit team at the Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg focuses on financial analytic support for the EMEA Logistics team. Responsibilities include validating and processing logistics invoices, collaborating with internal and external partners, supporting monthly/quarterly financial closing, identifying process improvement opportunities through automation, and contributing to data analytics projects. The role requires working directly with the Supply Chain team, a highly dynamic and international environment, contributing to timely and accurate payments, and improving logistics spend systems. The ideal candidate possesses knowledge of Supply Chain Finance, Logistics, and Analytics along with proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and SQL. Experience in financial and accounting concepts within a manufacturing setting is preferred.

Internship assignment:

The Freight Pay Audit team is responsible for auditing and timely payment of logistics invoices. The individual in this role will deliver financial analytic support for Tesla’s EMEA Logistics team. Your focus will include freight invoice validation supporting payment approval, financial reporting, logistics spend systems improvements, and data analytics. Most importantly, you will support us in day-to-day business and participate in additional project work. You’ll be part of the Supply Chain team, which is an international, experienced, fun, and vital team at Tesla. Working directly with the team collaboratively, you’ll have the unique opportunity to make changes and improvements to our processes.

What You’ll Do

Assist the timely validation and payment of logistics invoices
Work with different internal teams (Logistics, Procurement, Finance etc.) as well as external partners (e.g. carriers) to ensure proper auditing and payment of logistics invoices
Collaborate with Procurement for transportation contracts
Join forces with Finance for cost accruals, invoice payments and logistics information for the monthly and quarterly closing
Support Accounts Payable with invoice payments
Identify & execute opportunities to increase bandwidth through automation and streamlining of business processes
Work in a highly dynamic and international environment

What You’ll Bring

Preferably studying a relevant field like Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration
Knowledge in Supply Chain Finance, Logistics and Analytics
Experience in financial and accounting concepts and procedures within a manufacturing environment
Proficiency with MS Office, MS Excel, SQL
Expertise in Tableau/other BI tools, Python, power query is a plus
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high quality results
Fluent English, German is a benefit
Capable of working in a fast-paced and always changing environment
Proactive and independent work mentality
A strong team player
