The Senior Engineer in service management will be part of a team focused on the availability, performance, and scalability of critical services at LSEG. Responsibilities include maintaining Service Level Objectives, writing automation to scale systems, partnering with development teams, participating in on-call rotations, and advocating for strong engineering practices. The role involves working with cloud migration teams, performing architectural reviews, and configuring dashboards. The candidate will also be expected to engage in continuous learning and development.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
  • Experience with scripting languages like Shell or Python
  • Experience maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Observability tools like Datadog
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Incident response and running post-mortems
  • Proficient in Git workflows
Good to have:
  • Experience on DevOps concepts and way of working
  • Experience with algorithms and data structures
  • Understanding of identity and access management, and application security
  • Native Azure relational databases

Our Team

We are evolving our Service Management team to move beyond support and operations. As a Senior Engineer in service management, you will be part of a diverse and inclusive organization that has full ownership of the availability, performance, and scalability of one of the most critical services at LSEG.

Main responsibilities

We are looking for people with a passion to learn, and who bring a continuous improvement mentality to our team!

Support Managers maintain Service Level Objectives for the systems they own. Constantly measuring and improving availability, latency, and overall system health is at the core of our team's purpose.

Write automation to scale systems sustainably, prevent service issues, or when they occur, quickly recover service.

Partner with development teams to improve system reliability, observability, and release velocity.

Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, postmortems, and root cause analysis and resolution.

Be a vocal advocate of strong/sound engineering practices that allow us to build, deploy, and run scalable, reliable, and performant services.

Enablers for Cloud migration working with foundation and migration teams from the inception of the projects performing architectural reviews, operational acceptable testing and configuring Datadog dashboards and metrics.

Be part of continuous learning and development culture.

Minimum qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related technical field involving software/systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as: Shell, Python, or similar.
  • Experience in maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Hands on Experience with one of the following cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Knowledge on Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Observability tools like Datadog, Dynatrace or similar.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Incident response and running blameless post-mortems.
  • Proficient in Git workflows.

Preferred qualifications

  • Minimum 8-10 years in the industry
  • Experience on DevOps concepts and way of working
  • Experience with algorithms and data structures.
  • Understanding of identity and access management, and application security.
  • Native Azure relational databases.

We use Datadog and BigPanda for our observability stack, Terraform for our cloud infrastructure, and EntraID as our IAM solutions but we're very open to incorporating your experience with any other tools.

Compensation/Benefits Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $123,500 - $205,900.

Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience. LSEG roles (excluding internships and part-time roles of less than 20 hours per week) are typically eligible for inclusion in our LSEG Benefits program, which includes offerings of: Annual Wellness Allowance, Paid time-off, Medical, Dental, Vision, Flex Spending & Health Savings Options, Prescription Drug plan, 401(K) Savings Plan and Company match.
