How we LEAD:
This job exists to provide ongoing legal support related to drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of agreements, primarily agreements related to production of master recordings, distribution of master recordings (digital and formats), and providing advice regarding various other contractual and legal matters and issues for the company’s recorded music and music publishing divisions. The job also includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating other agreements such as artist and music publishing agreements, and research into various trademark issues and other legal matters.
How you’ll CREATE:
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and amendments with producers, mixers, and other persons and entities related to the production of master recordings, including securing clearances for recordings featuring guest artists.
Advise and counsel A&R administration department regarding the above referenced contracts and amendments and assist A&R administration with their securing of the same.
Draft and negotiate artist and/or music publishing agreements as directed.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and amendments for digital distribution and multi-channel network administration of recordings owned or controlled by third parties as directed.
Advise and counsel various Company representatives regarding the creation of the agreements referenced above, apprise of negotiation status, and provide suggestions as to possible negotiation steps.
Assist with creation of contract summaries for newly and previously entered agreements.
Prepare summaries for obtaining corporate approval of new agreements and option exercising.
Provide legal advice on a wide range of issues for various departments.

Minimum 2 years law practice experience preferred. Law firm experience/training in entertainment law preferred.
