Dun & Bradstreet is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a geographically distributed, cross-functional software development team. This role requires a highly technical individual with a passion for development, architectural design, and motivating teams. The manager will be responsible for enabling the transformation of the technology stack into a consolidated, modern, stable, and extendable platform. Key responsibilities include hands-on engineering accountability, leading and mentoring the team, collaborating with product management, ensuring high-availability production environments with 99.95% uptime, designing optimized code, contributing to architectural decisions, performing root-cause analysis, and participating in testing and validation. The manager will also oversee the development and testing environments, ensure adoption of best practices like Agile and CI/CD, and translate business needs into technical requirements.
Must have:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
- Experience leading teams in an Agile environment
- 5-7 years of HANDS-ON experience developing Cloud-based (AWS/GCP) web applications
- Hands-on proficiency with full-stack software development
- Advanced knowledge of frontend, ASP.Net, .Net, Angular, Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, HTML, CSS
- Advanced knowledge of React and its ecosystem
- Experience in JBoss Server
- Knowledge of high-availability system design, architecture, cloud technologies, SQL databases, open source, and web technologies
- Understanding of diverse API paradigms (REST, GraphQL, Procedural)
- AngularJS and Web Components knowledge
- Knowledge of browser ecosystem, tools and web security
- Strong knowledge in Git repository management
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge and exposure to production environments/operations, logging and monitoring, alerts, maintenance, and on-call rotation procedure
- Knowledge of Confluence & Jira

As the Engineering Manager, you are highly technical, a team leader and hands-on developer, ready to drive projects and help the team solve complex, technical problems.
You will bring deep technical acumen with success in leading teams to develop highly scalable, distributed software systems. You are a creative thinker with a passion for development, architectural design, and motivating teams to deliver on targeted, strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a geographically distributed, cross-functional software development team.
- Lead and manage a development team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team's success and professional growth.
- Hands-on engineering accountability, developing with your team, as you lead, coach, and mentor, leveraging your knowledge and skills across projects and stakeholders, driving change/delivering impactful outcomes.
- Collaborate with product management and work across other engineering teams to identify, plan, and ensure successful execution of application development.
- Champion a high-availability production environment with a focus on logging and monitoring, alerting, debugging, and on-call rotation to maintain 99.95% uptime.
- Design and develop optimized code compliant to specification and technology standards
- Discuss and contribute towards architectural and design decisions with the team
- Recommend solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages
- Perform root-cause analysis (RCA) of complex issues ranging from hardware, operating system, application, network, and information security platforms while working closely with various infrastructure teams and business users to quickly arrive at creative, tactical and long-term solutions.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure solutions meet business objectives and fall within timelines and acceptance criteria
- Participate in testing of prototypes & validate test procedures to ensure that they are applicable to the design
- Validate technology platform to be used for a project and ensure common acceptance
- Development of high-quality software solutions using the specified technical stack.
- Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback to team members to ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards.
- Oversee the setup and maintenance of development and testing environments, ensuring they are optimized for efficiency and reliability.
- Participate in the review of design and architectures, offering technical insights and guidance to ensure requirements are well-understood and feasible.
- Review the overall delivery process, from development through testing to deployment, ensuring it aligns with project goals and quality standards.
- Ensure the adoption of best practices in software development, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and code quality standards.
- Guide the team in designing scalable, secure, and high-performance software solutions.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends to enhance development efficiency.
- Serve as the main point of contact between development teams and business stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Continuously improve development processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance productivity and software quality.
- Promote a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to explore new technologies and solutions
Key Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering with strong computer science fundamentals
- Experience leading and managing teams in an Agile environment
- 5-7 + years of HANDS-ON experience developing Cloud-based (AWS/GCP) web applications with REST APIs, databases and storage.
- Hands-on proficiency with full-stack software development and advanced knowledge of the frontend, ASP.Net, .Net, Angular, Java, J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, HTML and CSS
- Advanced knowledge of React and the React ecosystem (bundlers, state managers, network libraries)
- Experience in JBoss Server
- Knowledge and experience in high-availability system design, architecture, cloud technologies, SQL databases, open source, and web technologies.
- Understanding of diverse API paradigms (REST, GraphQL, Procedural)
- AngularJS and Web Components knowledge
- Knowledge of browser ecosystem, tools and web security
- Strong knowledge in Git repository management
- Solid understanding of continuous integration & continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
- Knowledge and exposure to production environments/operations, logging and monitoring, alerts, maintenance, and on-call rotation procedure.
- Knowledge of Confluence & Jira
