We are seeking a Manager, Strategy to shape Vertex’s corporate and business strategy. You will be part of the Chief Strategy Office (CSO), collaborating with senior leadership on impactful projects such as customer segmentation, market evaluations, pricing, business model development, and growth opportunities. Your responsibilities will include breaking down complex problems, conducting research and analysis, creating strategic frameworks and financial models, and developing presentations for executive and board-level communication. You will also stay updated on relevant market, regulatory, and technology trends.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 5-8 years of work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of strategy consulting experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional workstreams.
  • Ability to structure complex problems.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to deliver high quality analysis.

Job Details

Job Description:

We are seeking a Manager, Strategy to help shape Vertex’s corporate and business strategy. You will be part of the Chief Strategy Office (CSO) working closely with the Vice President of Strategy & Innovation, Director of Strategy, Director of Innovation and other members of the CSO.

As a member of the CSO, you will have the ability to work on impactful and complex projects with high visibility. Example projects include customer segmentation, new market evaluations, pricing and business model development, and growth opportunity exploration, among others. Projects will entail collaboration with executives, cross-functional business partners, and external stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Break down complex problems and structure and scope related projects.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research and perform rigorous data analysis.
  • Create strategic frameworks and financial models (on par with leading consulting firms).
  • Develop presentations to clearly communicate problem space, analysis, and insights.
  • Support creation of CEO and Board of Directors level communication.
  • Stay current on market, regulatory, and technology trends relevant to Vertex.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
  • 5 to 8 years of work experience, with a minimum of 5 years of strategy consulting experience.
  • Led cross-functional workstreams on high-stakes strategy initiatives, driving alignment with executive objectives, ensuring rigorous execution against timelines, and delivering actionable, high-impact outcomes.
  • Excellent ability to structure complex problems.
  • Exceptional research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn new subjects quickly.
  • Ability to deliver high quality analysis and supported points of view.
  • Crisp ability to convey complex ideas in written form (e.g., memos, slide presentations).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
