Managing Legal Counsel

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Legal team in Sydney and are currently looking for a Managing Legal Counsel to join the team. 

As a Managing Legal Counsel at VGW, you will lead and manage legal affairs within the company, providing strategic legal guidance, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and managing legal risks.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Advise on all legal aspects of mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, venture capital, and other strategic transactions, including corporate structuring, due diligence, negotiation, documentation, and integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risks in business transactions and activities.
  • Provide strategic legal guidance on market expansion, new product launches, and other business development initiatives.
  • Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company and proactively advise management on potential legal risks and implications.

What you will bring to the role:

  • 8+ years post-qualification experience with relevant experience at a top-tier law firm or relevant in-house experience.
  • Admitted as a lawyer to practice in Australia.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • High degree of commercial acumen to understand the business’ key drivers.
  • Demonstrated adherence to a high standard of professional principles to ensure honesty, integrity, and ethical decision-making in all situations.
