About the job:
As a Manufacturing Test Development Engineer at Google Cloud, you'll be responsible for leading and implementing system firmware and software development for next-generation test cards and systems. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience developing with Python, Java or C++.
  • Experience in managing suppliers and partners in implementing design requirements.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2 years of experience with software/firmware.
  • Experience in development of manufacturing test software.
  • Experience in development of software test solutions for complex computing, storage, and networking products.
  • Ability to generate product-specific test plans and execute testing accordingly.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with contract manufacturers and peers in worldwide geographies.
  • Excellent leadership, investigative, quantitative reasoning, problem-solving, creative and strategic skills.

Your team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver this state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google's powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you're right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google's infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Google's infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement the system firmware and software development for next-generation test cards and systems to introduce the latest technologies of performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness to the infrastructures.
  • Design and implement tools for automating diagnostics, performance evaluation, and reliability assurance for next-generation test cards and systems. Design and implement solutions for collecting and analyzing metrics for storage products in the cloud infrastructure to derive actionable insights.
  • Define the manufacturing test strategy for new products and work with our partners to jointly develop the required test solutions.
  • Support manufacturing test software for new and existing hardware designs. Write test plans and drive test coverage based on product requirements.
