The Market Sales Manager/Account Executive will research and drive sales for software products under the GolfNow umbrella, managing the full sales cycle. Responsibilities include prospecting, lead generation, cold calling, building relationships, account penetration, and account management. They will become an expert on the local golf economy, analyzing courses, marketing outlets, and competitors to maximize market metrics. This position is part of the Golf group, which connects golfers and golf facilities around the world. They will also be responsible for account management and growing their existing book of business. This role will report into the Area Director.

  • Computer/Internet experience required
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Experience with online distribution platforms/technology is a plus
  • Salesforce or similar CRM experience
  • College degree, preferred
  • Business acumen with a problem-solving attitude
  • Sales development and/or strategy experience
  • Digital sales and marketing experience is a plus
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding metrics and goals

Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

Job Description

NBC Sports Next is where sports and technology intersect. At NBC Sports Next, we equip more than 30MM players, coaches, athletes, sports administrators and fans in 40 countries with more than 25 sports solution products, including SportsEngine, the largest youth sports club, league and team management platform; SportsEngine Play, the first ever streaming service for youth and amateur sports, GolfNow, the leading online tee time marketplace and provider of golf course operations technology; and GolfPass the ultimate golf membership that connects golfers to exclusive content, tee time credits, instructional content and more.   

This role is part of our Golf group, which brings together the teams behind products and services like GolfNowTeeOff and GolfPass, which better connects golfers and golf facilities around the world through innovative solutions like cloud-based golf course management and SmartPlay contactless technology and services that create optimum golfing experiences.  

The Account Executive/Market Sales Manager will research and drive sales for all software products and services under the GolfNow umbrella. They will have ownership of the full sales cycle from prospecting, lead generation, cold calling, relationship building, and account penetration. The Market Sales Manager will also be responsible for account management and growing their existing book of business. This role will report into the Area Director. 

Job Duties

  • Strong account management and relationship building experience
  • Outside Sales calls to Golf Courses partners and prospects
  • Preparation, presentation, and closing of customized golf course solutions
  • Documentation of sales activities into CRM database
  • Report generation of sales activities and revenues to be submitted to Area Director on a regular basis
  • Assist with market/course analysis to include web checks and opportunity email programs
  • Implement marketing strategies to grow partner rounds and revenue
  • Management responsibility of Multi-Course Operators relationships, as assigned by supervisor


The Market Sales Manager will be expected to become the expert on the local golf economy, which includes detailed knowledge of the golf courses, golf marketing outlets, market leaders, decision-makers, macroeconomic issues, and key competitors. The Market Sales Manager will use this detailed knowledge, under the assistance of their Area team to maximize the key performance metrics of the market. These metrics include: Number of Golf Course Clients & Overall Penetration, Product Adoption, Tee Time Utilization rates, and Local Customer (golfers) levels.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Computer/Internet experience required
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Desired Characteristics:

  • Experience with online distribution platforms/technology is a plus
  • Salesforce or similar CRM experience
  • College degree, preferred
  • Business acumen with a problem-solving attitude
  • Sales development and/or strategy experience
  • Digital sales and marketing experience is a plus
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding metrics and goals
  • An ability to deliver on role duties and answer inquiries in a timely manner

Additional Requirements:

  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Antonio, TX or Austin, TX area.
  • Must be able to travel regularly, work overtime, and on weekends as necessary.
  • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
