Job Details

Hello! We’re Maschinen-Mensch, an independent game studio founded in 2014 in Berlin, Germany. You might know us from titles such as Curious Expedition 1 & 2 and, of course, our project management tool Codecks.

We are currently working on Mother Machine, our new game IP set in imaginative caves of an alien world, filled with peculiar creatures & vegetation. We are seeking a talented individual to join our team as a marketing manager. If you have a knack for communication and a passion for building online communities, we want to hear from you!

Your Responsibilities

  • Engagement: Actively participate on our Discord, social media platforms, and other community channels to engage with players and build a positive community around our games.
  • Content Creation: Create engaging content in text, image and video form for use as Discord posts, social media updates, Steam News posts and newsletter content to keep the community informed and excited about our games.
  • Events and Initiatives: Assist in planning and executing community events, tournaments, and other initiatives to foster a sense of community among players.
  • Reporting: Track and analyze community metrics to provide insights and recommendations for improving community engagement.
  • Store Pages: Manage the various store pages for our games and create assets for them in consultation with our departments and partners.
  • Marketing Agency: Work with different marketing partners to coordinate on planned marketing activities.

Your Skills

  • Enthusiastic about indie games.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. German language skills are a plus.
  • Familiarity with various social media platforms, forums, and online communities.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative mindset and an understanding of community-building strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of gaming industry trends and player preferences.

We’re looking for someone based in Berlin, and who’s able to work and be available online during our core hours of operation 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM CET. Our studio is located at Saftladen, an indie game collective and co-working space for game developers that we co-founded in 2015.
