Marketing Strategist

We’re looking to hire a Marketing Strategist for a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical client. Team culture is based on open communication, accountability, and collaboration.

Our direct Fortune 500 client is looking for someone to join the Marketing team to lead the strategy and development of key communication channels (email, website, app, media, SMS/MMS, SEM/SEO, print). This is a contract role ending 10/1/25 + possible extension. The team is located in Mettawa, IL, and the role is on-site Monday – Wednesday (Remote Thursday and Friday). Onward Search provides benefits for 40 hour work week and weekly paychecks (W2) for duration of the contract.

Marketing Strategist Responsibilities: 

• Spearhead the creation of innovative and impactful initiatives and tactics that directly support Patient Services' strategic goals, ensuring an exceptional patient experience across all channels.
• Contribute to shaping the patient treatment experience by leveraging data insights to inform strategic decisions and tactical implementation.
• Drive the development of the Patient Services Program (PSP) brand positioning and key messages for various stakeholders, supporting new and improved patient support models.
• Collaborate with Operations to lead the Marketing team's migration of CRM to Salesforce Marketing Cloud, integrating with other patient service platforms to enable effective engagement strategies and tactics.
• Directly manage projects and relationships with agency partners across Creative, Data, Digital, Finance, and Account teams.
• Strategically manage the marketing budget, identifying opportunities for efficiency and synergy to maximize resource utilization.
• Develop clear marketing briefs, proactively manage timelines, and anticipate potential roadblocks to ensure timely delivery.
• Create compliant marketing tactics that align with Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and OEC guidelines while effectively addressing business objectives.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Analytics & Business Insights team to measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies through learning agendas and measurement plans, translating insights into actionable optimization recommendations, and fostering a culture of testing and learning.

Marketing Strategist Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 5+ years of marketing experience required
• Marketing experience preferred, ideally in a similar pharma or patient service role
• Proficient understanding of brand management, including brand positioning, personalization & overall campaign developmen
• Meticulous with detail, adept at project management, and excels in time management.
• Possesses significant strategic marketing experience within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Collaborates effectively in complex matrix organizations, driving results through influence.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledgeable in Medical/Regulatory processes and agency management.
