Job Description

Pentair is seeking a Materials Operations Manager to join their team in Sanford, NC. The role involves being a change agent and driving out waste through Lean methodology. Responsibilities include leading and managing manufacturing departments, setting goals and metrics, ensuring a safe working environment with zero recordable injuries, managing productivity levels, and continuously improving processes. The manager will also oversee the site PFEP, develop leaders, manage costs as a percentage of net sales, manage the Cycle Count Program, improve inventory control, manage offsite storage, and optimize employee engagement and training.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Five plus years of leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Ability to lead multi-functional projects
  • Ability to develop leaders
  • Moderate to advanced PC skills (Excel a must)
  • Effective English communication
Good to have:
  • Engineering or Science degree
  • Spanish communication skills
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification
  • APICS CPIM certification

We have an opportunity for a Materials Operations Manager to join our Sanford, NC team. You will be a change agent and drive out waste throughout the manufacturing operation through the deployment of the Lean methodology. You will be responsible for identification of continuous improvement initiatives.

You will:

  • Lead and manage a manufacturing department(s). Set goals and establish metrics for the departments.
  • Managing department with zero recordable injuries
  • Manage productivity levels with the departments.
  • Continuously improving productivity, flow, changeovers, etc. through the implementation of Lean principles
  • Manage site PFEP including launch or change of raw, WIP, or finished goods.
  • Develop leaders.
  • Manage cost as a % of net sales. Manage within the forecasted budget.
  • Manage Cycle Count Program to meet compliance requirements.
  • Manage and continuously improve inventory control practices.
  • Manage all offsite storage.
  • Optimize employee engagement and training by providing value stream transformation support, guidance and continuous improvement and sustainability.

Key Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher. Engineering or Science degree is preferred.
  • Five plus years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lead and coordinate multi-functional team projects.
  • Ability to develop leaders.
  • Moderate to advanced PC skills (Office Suite, etc. proficiency in Excel a must)
  • Able to communicate effectively in the English language. 
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus.
  • Less Six Sigma Greenbelt a plus
  • APICS CPIM a plus

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $95500 - $177300 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with a demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
