Torch Technologies is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to drive product realization through comprehensive research, precise design, and seamless collaboration across all production stages.- Conduct research and gather information on mechanical requirements for product realization.
- Determine critical design facets, dynamic movements, and accurate dimensions based on gathered data.
- Produce conceptual design models and complete 3D CAD models.
- Generate manufacturing drawings required for producing the replica system.
- Analyze and design dynamic elements of the system.
- Support the entire production process by collaborating closely with project engineers, fabricators, technical writers, and program managers.
- Ensure successful fielding of the product through effective coordination and communication.
- At least 2-year technical degree focused on the fundamental elements of analysis, modeling, design, and detailing from an accredited institution.
- Work Experience: 5+ years of experience is required. Applicants must have extensive experience in the creation of drawings, weldments, shop drawings, and the completion of technical drawing packages. Expertise with SolidWorks is essential. Applicants must be able to prepare the following (but not limited to) elements of drawing packages: detailed assembly drawings, cable assembly diagrams, hydraulics, wiring schematics, interconnect drawings and bill of materials.
- Proven ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse set of customers, collaborators, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
- Experience developing detailed schedules and plans.
- Excellent organizational skills needed to track multiple assignments, adapt to requirements changes, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or higher DoD Clearance is required.
- Education: bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or math from an accredited institution
- Experience in Computer Aided Design
- Experience in product development, manufacturing, and fabrication
- Experience in a shop (machine and/or fabrication) atmosphere with skills and understanding in welding, and sheet metal fabrication is preferred.
- An applicant well-versed in ASME standards and in experience working in ISO or ASO accredited quality programs is preferred.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks Simulation or comparable Finite Element Analysis software.
- Experience with hydraulic system design
- Background working with Enterprise Product Data Management tool.
- Background with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5-2009.
