This internship at Tesla's Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg offers hands-on experience in mechatronics maintenance for drive unit production. Responsibilities include supporting the implementation of maintenance strategies, improving equipment efficiency and product yield, analyzing breakdowns, and contributing to cost reduction and cycle time optimization. The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams on data analysis for predictive maintenance, planning special maintenance activities, and improving preventative maintenance procedures. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are crucial.
Must have:
- Ongoing studies in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication (written & verbal)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with data analysis
Good to have:
- Experience with predictive maintenance
- Knowledge of cost-benefit analysis

The Role Mechatronics Intern in Drive Unit will have extensive hands-on experience in all facets of maintenance.
We are seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented intern to be responsible of improvements in overall equipment efficiency, product yield, cost, and cycle time to ensure continuous production and enable world-class manufacturing of Tesla’s cutting-edge Drive Units.
- Support on the implementation of the maintenance strategy of equipment and machinery.
- Interface between maintenance and Process engineering to improve the focus of the maintenance plans related to the quality of the product.
- Be creative on data analysis solutions for predictive maintenance.
- Analyze breakdowns, diagnose faults related to autonomous maintenance at operation level.
- Support in planning of special maintenance activities and corrective repairs.
- Oversee and control maintenance costs, cost benefit analysis.
- Control of machines documentation such as drawings, manuals and schematics.
- Support the supervisors on planning qualification for the team.
- Work in cross functional teams on methods to improve maintenance organizational and technical
- Support the improvement of preventative maintenance procedures and processes
- Ongoing or finishing studies in Mechanic or Mechatronics Engineering
- Good English and/or German skills in speaking and writing.
- Customer service-oriented mindset
- Proficient skills in communication verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Work in cross functional team
