Mobile Game Economy Designer, F2P

As an Economy Designer, you will design and manage the in-game economy for live operated, free-to-play mobile games. You will work closely with Product Managers and Game Designers to ensure that long term player progression feels balanced, rewarding, and supports business goals and KPIs.

Responsibilities:

• Work with PM & Design to create an economy design that fulfills player experience goals and expectations while also hitting revenue targets set by stakeholders
• Take ownership of in-game item pricing, currency sinks & faucets, and the pacing of rewards & milestones
• Collaborate with Analytics team to build out schemas and dashboards relevant to economy performance tracking
• Actively monitor live game data and work with Product Managers and Game Design to make and deploy balance adjustments
• Create Excel models & simulations to anticipate future economic risks and suggest design adjustments to mitigate or eliminate them
• Plan A/B tests in consultation with PM & Insights teams and report key takeaways from their results
• Actively research current F2P games and document key learnings related to unique monetization strategies, progression features, & more

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of successful work in games system design, economy design, tuning & balancing for free-to-play games
• A BS/MS in economics, mathematics, statistics, computer engineering, or similar
• Highly skilled at building economic models & simulations
• Deep understanding of the F2P games market (trends, best practices, etc.)
• Strong grasp on player motivations, game pacing, and fun factor
• Excellent analytical, logical, and problem solving skills
• Proficient in English, both written and verbal
