Network and Security Engineer

We're looking for a mid to senior level Network Security Engineer to support and secure IT systems across both the main office and remote sites of a renewable energy organization. This role works closely with a global team to ensure the safety and reliability of the organization's network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safeguard IT systems from internal and external threats.
• Help respond to security incidents like breaches or unauthorized access.
• Maintain accurate documentation for audits and compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network and hardware issues.
• Travel to various sites as needed (up to 50% of the time).
• Drive safely and maintain a valid driver's license.

Mid-Level Responsibilities:

• Set up and manage firewalls and VPNs.
• Monitor systems for unusual activity and ensure timely updates.
• Plan and implement network and security hardware.

Senior-Level Responsibilities:

• Advise on security best practices and risk management.
• Offer strategic alternatives to meet business goals securely.

Qualifications:

• Strong multitasking and time management skills.
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and general IT hardware/software.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.

Mid-Level Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 or more years of experience in network security.

• Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, BGP, MPLS, QoS, and wireless networks.
• Experience managing at least two security systems.

Senior-Level Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of experience in network security.

• Deep knowledge of network security and administration.
• Experience managing five or more security systems.
• Cisco certification (like CCNA) is a plus.
