Network Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is  looking for a skilled and hands-on Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable virtual network infrastructures using tools such as WireGuard, ZeroTier, and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs). In this role, you will work closely with infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams to ensure seamless, efficient, and secure networking across cloud-based and hybrid environments. This is a fast-paced job with room for significant career growth. 

Please note: you must have at least 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Design and deploy secure virtual networks and VPCs across multiple environments.

• Configure and manage WireGuard and ZeroTier networks to enable secure and flexible remote connectivity.

• Optimize routing, firewall rules, and access control for private networking scenarios.

• Monitor network performance, identify issues, and implement improvements proactively.

• Document network topology, configurations, and best practices.

• Troubleshoot networking issues related to virtual machines, containers, and remote access solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, cloud, DevOps) to align network setup with business needs.

• Ensure network security best practices, including encryption, segmentation, and access controls.

EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer.

• Strong experience with virtual networking concepts, including VPCs, VPNs, and subnetting.

• Proven hands-on experience with WireGuard and/or ZeroTier in production environments.

• Strong understanding of IP routing, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and firewall configurations.

• Familiarity with Linux-based network configuration and tools (e.g., iptables, net plan, ip, systemd-networkd).

• Experience configuring cloud network infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure VPCs).

• Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation and configuration.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).

• Knowledge of container networking (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Familiarity with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) concepts.

• Understanding of zero-trust networking and secure remote access design.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to prioritize and work autonomously

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

• Initiative and drive to do great things.
