This is your network, and it's constantly growing. You'll ensure it's reliable, robust, and can scale to meet the demands of serving over a billion users. Automation and continuous improvement are key. You'll develop and deploy network designs, automation systems, and performance improvements. This role is perfect if you want to solve problems unique to large-scale environments, work on a dynamic, fast-paced network, and help make the world more open and connected. Responsibilities include: * Building experience with Backbone, Data Center, and Network Infrastructure Engineering teams through rotational experiences during your first year. * Building, managing, and maintaining multi-vendor, multi-protocol data center and backbone networks. * Developing optimized network monitoring systems. * Designing and deploying new network architectures. * Developing automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events. * Analyzing data to diagnose and identify root causes of network issues. * Actively participating in deep technical discussions. * Developing and maintaining consistency within the network infrastructure.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant technical field
  • 2+ years of experience in network engineering or network-centric software development
  • Experience with computer networks
  • Experience with UNIX, TCP/IP, network fundamentals
  • Experience coding in at least one language (Python/Golang/Rust/C++)
  • Experience learning new concepts around network design and management
Good to have:
  • Knowledge of Switching and Routing concepts and implementation
  • Knowledge of routing protocols BGP, OSPF and ISIS
  • Knowledge of tunneling protocols MPLS, GRE, IPnIP

Network Production Engineer Responsibilities
  • Build experience with Backbone, Data Center, and Network Infrastructure Engineering teams through rotational experiences during your first year

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
  • 2+ years of experience in network engineering or network-centric software development
  • Experience with computer networks
  • Experience with UNIX, TCP/IP, network fundamentals, or similar
  • Experience coding in at least one language (Python/Golang/Rust/C++ are all in use)
  • Experience learning new concepts around network design and management
Preferred Qualifications
