The NExT Summer Intern – VFX Production will support the Production team in scheduling, review session preparation, note-taking, and delivery. The intern will shadow VFX team members, gaining exposure to the VFX pipeline and creative processes. Responsibilities include assisting with daily administrative tasks and special projects. The internship also includes a cohort-based curriculum with workshops, a guest speaker series, and professional development opportunities. This is a paid, full-time (40 hours/week), 10-week internship (mid-June to mid-August) based in New York (remote option).

*Pay Range: $17.50 USD hourly


POSITION SUMMARY:
Based in New York, the NExT Summer Intern – VFX Production will aid and support the Production team, while gaining exposure into the VFX pipeline, processes, and industry standards. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in visual effects and/or the entertainment industry.

MAIN DUTIES:
A day in the life of this position may include:
  • Supporting the VFX Production team across the areas of scheduling, review session preparation, notetaking, and delivery
  • Shadow VFX team members and gain exposure to the VFX pipeline and creative processes
  • Assist with daily administrative tasks and special project as needed
In addition, interns will participate in a cohort-based curriculum where they will:
  • Explore various career paths through interactive workshops and a guest speaker series.
  • Engage in professional development to set career goals and build workplace skills.

WHAT YOU BRING:
As the ideal candidate, you will have demonstrable interests in visual effects, film and/or other visual media.
You will also have:
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) with comfort interacting with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changes.
Previous knowledge of Shotgrid, Frame IO, RV, Filemaker, and Microsoft Office apps is a plus, but not a requirement.

INTERNSHIP DETAILS:
  • Internships are paid, full-time positions (maximum of 40 hours per week).
  • Duration: 10 weeks (mid-June to mid-August)
  • As part of the NExT Internship Program, interns will receive opportunities for professional development and participation in a guest speaker series featuring company leadership and industry experts.

The benefits for eligible part-time employees working 25 or more hours per week and full-time employees in the US include a comprehensive package of health, retirement, and insurance benefits and paid time off. The benefits for eligible project hires and part-time employees working less than 25 hours per week in the US include retirement, select insurance benefits, and where required by law, health benefits. For roles filled in Canada and other territories, local benefits plan offerings as adopted and amended from time to time will apply.
