Crytek seeks an experienced NOC Linux Specialist to remotely support their NetOps department in Frankfurt, Germany. The role involves 24/7 monitoring and troubleshooting of their gaming network across multiple data centers, games, and platforms. Responsibilities include monitoring using Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana; installing, configuring, and patching software; collaborating with R&D; maintaining accurate documentation; assisting with process development; and maintaining a highly available environment. The position offers both permanent (Germany residents) and freelance (outside Germany, within 2 hours of CET) contract options.
Good To Have:

NOC Linux Specialist (Remote only)
We are looking for an experienced NOC Linux Specialist to support our NetOps department in Frankfurt, Germany (remote only).
You will be responsible for the monitoring and troubleshooting of Crytek’s 24×7 gaming network across multiple data-centers, games, and platforms.
Remote Work
1. If you are already living in Germany, we are able to offer you a permanent work contract and allow you to work remotely as an employee from your current location.
2. If you are living outside of Germany (max. +/- 2 hours CET), we can offer you a freelance contract arrangement.
- Responsibilities
- Monitoring and operation of the 24×7×365 hosted data-center environment using the monitoring tools Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana etc;
- Installation, configuration and patching of system and game software;
- Work closely with R&D to install, configure and operate developed features, as appropriate;
- Ensure appropriate, accurate, up-to-date technical documentation is available for systems and game logic, and environment;
- Assist with process, policy development and documentation;
- Operate and maintain a dynamic, highly available environment.
- Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a NOC Engineer or NOC Specialist;
- English level – Intermediate and upper;
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP;
- Linux administration experience;
- Experience in automation/configuration management tools (Ansible is preferable), Git;
- Hands - on experience with virtualization technologies.
- Database knowledge: Postgres, MariaDB, Redis, MongoDB;
- Familiar with the following protocols and services (desirable and will be considered as a strong advantage):
- DNS
- HTTP/HTTPS
- VPN (IPSec, OpenVPN)
- NGINX
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Shell, Perl, Python, etc.)
- Pluses
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Networks or Information Security is preferred;
- Specific experience with Ubuntu/Debian Linux;
- Experience with monitoring systems (Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana etc.);
- Professional experience with Docker.
