The position plays a critical role in implementing a new Transportation Management System (TMS) in partnership with RMS (formerly C.H. Robinson) and in optimizing carrier relationships and performance through data-driven decision-making, cost control, and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with the Business Manager to support the deployment of HP’s new TMS solution in collaboration with RMS (formerly C.H. Robinson). Drive configuration, testing, and integration activities to ensure a successful implementation aligned with business needs.
Collaborate closely with RMS to design and scale a robust FTL and IMD transportation network to support evolving business requirements.
Manage relationships and performance with HP’s primary LTL partners (FedEx Freight, Expeditors International, Tazmanian Freight Systems). Oversee Ryder-managed LTL operations (e.g., Estes as an Amazon-preferred carrier).
Lead efforts to identify and integrate regional LTL carriers into HP’s Greenfield initiative, transitioning from 21 DCs to 3 mega hubs.
Oversee specialized delivery services for sensitive business segments (e.g., MPS, Indigo, Scitex). Manage relationships with white glove providers, including Expeditors, Tazmanian, CRST Specialized, TriAd, and Metro/SCI (Canada).
Act as the primary business owner of all NA carrier relationships (FedEx, UPS, Expeditors, Tazmanian, Ryder, etc.). Lead operational negotiations and partner with Procurement on cost-related initiatives to ensure competitiveness and service alignment.
Maintain and grow long-standing, strategic relationships with key partners. Oversee two Global Account Managers (GAMs) dedicated to managing our highest-priority carriers: Expeditors and FedEx.
Own and report on Total Customer Experience (TCE) metrics. Identify root causes of service failures and provide weekly performance insights and improvement plans to senior leadership.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of transportation costs and cost drivers across all service lines. Develop and execute cost containment strategies to support budget goals.
