Job Description

As an NPI Engineering Technician at Tesla Engineering Germany GmbH, you will be responsible for the assembly and support of new product introductions. This role requires complex electro-mechanical assembly skills, understanding of production processes, and collaboration with engineers and operations. Responsibilities include performing precise assembly work, supporting build processes, reworking components, creating documentation, updating production records, maintaining NPI pilot lines, and troubleshooting equipment and processes. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years' hands-on experience in new product assembly, technical training (mechanic or mechatronics engineering), and proficiency in operating production machinery. Excellent English communication skills are essential.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform complex and precise electro-mechanical assembly work while maintaining a clean and orderly work area 

  • Support build processes, perform reworks on components (turning/milling), and prepare documentation for Design and Manufacturing Engineers 

  • Ability to read, interpret, and create documentation and drawings, and to give and follow precise verbal and written instruction 

  • Responsible for updating production records to ensure accurate tracking of processes  

  • Maintain NPI Pilot Lines to keep current with changes in product design and manufacturing process 

  • Troubleshooting equipment and processes by collaborating with engineering, quality and operations  

What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in assembly for new products   

  • Completed technical training as a mechanic engineer, mechatronics engineer or similar 

  • Good understanding of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems 

  • Proficiency in operating production machinery either through graphical user interfaces (GUIs) or by using programming languages (e.g., G-codes, pseudo-code) 

  • Extensive workshop experience with strong manual dexterity and precision 

  • Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal 

  • Experience with NPI of power electronic products and/or mass production are a plus
