Must Have:
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics/Astronomy, Computer Science, or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in satellite operations and orbital analysis
  • Experience with Python and Linux
  • Experience with collision avoidance and SSA data
  • Proficiency in operational procedures for space safety services

We are continuously seeking highly skilled and qualified Orbital Analysts to join our team in support of a technical and operational services contract. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of space traffic management and contribute to the safety and stability of the space operating environment. These positions are generally located at Vandenberg SFB, CA; Colorado Springs, CO; Dahlgren, VA; and Chantilly, VA.
 
As an Orbital Analyst, you will play a critical role in conducting operations activities, space traffic coordination, and ensuring the smooth execution of mission operations. This role requires technical expertise, operational excellence, and the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including commercial operators and government entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze space traffic products and computational processes.
  • Respond to operational issues related to space traffic coordination and troubleshoot technical issues within the operations center.
  • Develop and maintain procedures, operational displays, and other job aids to meet operational needs and resolve technical challenges.
  • Coordinate actions with commercial space operators and other stakeholders to ensure the continued provision of space safety services.
  • Support the development and execution of training materials and activities to onboard government and commercial team members.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and mission-critical requirements throughout all operational processes.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics/Astronomy, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in satellite operations and orbital analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with software systems, development environments, or programming languages like Python and Linux.
  • Experience conducting collision avoidance (CA) for mega-constellations and understanding Space Situational Awareness (SSA) data and services.
  • Proficiency in operational procedures to ensure the effective provision of space safety data and services.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $180,000, depending on relevant experience, location, and other factors.
