The Donor System Analyst is responsible for utilizing and understanding the donor management system, including writing and debugging SQL, creating reports, and analyzing data. This role involves developing and maintaining SQL queries, troubleshooting data issues, importing and managing data, providing support to internal teams, assisting with database access, and creating reports using tools like SSRS. Additionally, the analyst will participate in process improvement, documentation, and testing, serving as a technical resource and problem-solver. The role requires a strong understanding of donor system structures and business logic. The job requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
Must have:
  • 2+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with SSRS and ETL tools.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server 2014-2022.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced SQL skills and database design understanding.
  • Ability to write and debug SQL queries and stored procedures.
Good to have:
  • Experience working with DonorDirect Studio Enterprise.
  • Experience with ETL tools.

Job Details

The Donor System Analyst is an excellent communicator, personable, able to work independently, and as a member of a team.  This person must be able to take ownership of tasks assigned and work within the scope of the assignments. This role is responsible for helping  best utilize the donor management system it uses. This involves gaining a deep understanding of the application and data, writing and debugging SQL, creating reports, analyzing data, and additional tasks as needed.

DUTIES:
  • Develop, test, and maintain custom SQL queries, scripts, and stored procedures to support reporting, segmentation, system enhancements, and internal projects.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot data issues across systems; research problems and propose/implement accurate solutions and data repairs.
  • Import, clean, and manage data using ETL tools to support data integration and system functionality.
  • Provide support for internal teams (Communication Services, Product Services, Donation Center, Marketing, etc.) by delivering accurate lists, reports, and data extracts.
  • Assist the Donor System Administrator team with database access, query troubleshooting, and operational support.
  • Provide ad hoc and scheduled reporting using tools like SSRS, ensuring accuracy and usability.
  • Perform mass updates in a controlled production environment under supervision to maintain data integrity.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of donor system structures and business logic to support system enhancements and efficient data use.
  • Support integration and functionality of payment processing systems, as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement, documentation, and testing of new features or system changes.
  • Serve as a technical resource and problem-solver to other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in a Microsoft SQL Server environment
  • Strong Communication and Collaborative skills
  • Proven working experience in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
  • Familiarity with SSRS, ETL tools, and data integration concepts.
  • Experience working with MS SQL Server 2014-2022.
  • Experience working with DonorDirect Studio Enterprise or other donor management systems.
  • Experience working with ETL tools is a plus.
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills, especially when conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced SQL skills and solid understanding of relational database design and logic.
  • Experience with SQL Server Management Studio and related tools.
  • Ability to write and debug SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work with a wide variety of departments and team members.
  • Organizational skills and a commitment to excellence and service in all tasks.
