Job Description

The Global Partner Solutions (GPS) team at Microsoft seeks a Partner Solution Sales professional to work with top managed partners (IT resellers, distributors, SIers) in Japan. This role focuses on driving cloud migration and service utilization with mid-small scale customers. Responsibilities include developing sales plans, collaborating with partners on joint sales strategies, managing deal execution, providing sales readiness and coaching, and leveraging programs to accelerate sales. The ideal candidate will have 3-7+ years of experience in core sales, channel sales, or solution selling and a proven track record of success in achieving revenue targets. The role requires strong leadership, coaching and collaboration skills. The position will be based in Tokyo, Japan.

The Global Partner Solutions (GPS) team is a sales organization accountable for the commercial partner business at Microsoft, and the mission is to build and sell Microsoft Cloud applications, services and devices with partners, empowering people, and organizations to achieve more.

 

As a Partner Solution sales*, you will work with our Top Managed Partners including IT resellers, distributors, and SIers, to drive cloud migration and service utilization mainly with mid-small scale customers in Japan.  You will work closely with them to drive sales at scale and to deliver revenue impact to the business. You will provide Sales Readiness and Deal Coaching and Manage Top Deal Execution. This opportunity will allow you to deepen your Solution Area Knowledge, Grow your Business Acumen and hone your skills in Sales Leadership.

 

*From FY25 (July 2024 onward), the previous role of Channel sales will be transitioned as Partner Solution Sales.

パートナーソリューションセールスとして、ITリセラー、ディストリビューター、SIerを含むトップマネージドパートナーと協力し、主に日本の中小規模の顧客を対象にクラウド移行とサービス利用を推進します。彼らと密接に協力し、規模を拡大して営業を行い、ビジネスへの収益影響をもたらします。セールスレディネスとディールコーチングを提供し、トップディールの実行を管理します。この機会は、ソリューションエリアの知識を深め、ビジネスアキューメンを成長させ、セールスリーダーシップのスキルを磨くことができます。

 

*2025会計年度(2024年7月以降)から、従来の”チャネルセールス”の役職名は”パートナーソリューションセールス”に移行されます。

  • 7+ years of core sales, channel sales, industry or solution selling, business development experience.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Business Administration or related field AND 4+ years of core sales, channel sales, industry or solution selling, business development experience
  • OR Master's Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Operations, Business Administration or related field AND 3+ years of core sales, channel sales, industry or solution selling, business development experience

  • Own a Solution Area Sales Plan with Top partners
    • Create a joint Partner Solution Sales and Territory plan with assigned partners through both partner-led and co-sell to achieve quarterly revenue target.
  • Institute a regular Sales Rhythm to ensure sales execution
    • Lead a monthly Sales ROB to ensure scale execution. Provide support for any commercial/tech blockers through an extended team of resources.
  • Provide Sales Readiness and Deal Coaching
    • Accelerate sales performance through your Territory Partners. Coach the partner on the Solution Area value conversation. Support scale campaigns to accelerate revenue growth. Act conduit between the Partner and Microsoft sellers.
  • Leverage Programs/Investments to accelerate deals
    • Leverage all incentives, programs and available resources to ensure deal acceleration and execution based on Microsoft Sales Methodology (MCEM).
  • Manage top deals
    • Support the partner in driving top key deals to deliver revenue impact to the business. Assist in removing blockers and coach on compete challenges.
