This part-time Pastry position at the Disneyland Resort offers exciting opportunities in either a fine dining or fast-paced production environment. Responsibilities include preparing pastry items according to recipes, maintaining kitchen safety and sanitation, assisting with special dietary needs, operating bakery equipment, and cleaning. The Pastry Line/Dinner Cook role involves creating complex recipes for banquets and fine dining, potentially including cake decorating. Candidates should possess a passion for pastry and baking, at least 2 years of culinary experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment. The role requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Whether you are looking for an exquisite Signature Fine Dining Pastry environment at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, or an exciting fast-paced production environment at the Central Bakery, magical hourly opportunities await!

Hourly Pastry opportunities may include:
  • Pastry Line/Dinner Cook

Responsibilities:

All Pastry Teams
  • Prepare products according to recipe guidelines
  • Uphold kitchen safety and sanitation, including temperature requirements
  • Has good judgment of food quality and production, understand the impact of spoilage
  • Ability to assist Chef in preparing items for Guests with special dietary needs
  • Operate tools, measurements, ingredients, equipment, small wares, and cooking required for a bakery
  • Clean kitchen equipment and practice HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) procedures

Pastry Line/Dinner Cook

  • Formulate and prepare complex recipes, including baker/pastry recipes and high-end specialty desserts for Banquets and Fine-Dining restaurants
  • May assist Pastry Chef/Head Baker with cake decorating

Basic Qualifications:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for these roles
  • Passion for Pastry & Baking and delighting our Guests with food!
  • Strong experience with cakes, plated desserts, and working in banquet and restaurant environments
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in culinary field/restaurants, or culinary degree and equivalent experience
  • Ability to follow and understand recipes in a mass volume environment
  • Multitask and work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Demonstrate a desire to provide excellent guest service and be part of a team
  • Strong listening skills and ability to take direction
  • Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and special events

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completed culinary education program or equivalent leadership experience
  • Experience making mousse, pate-a-choux, and French macaron
  • Bilingual

Additional Information:

SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am.
