Job Description

As a Pharmacy Prior Authorization Specialist, you will be a key player in providing exceptional customer service to patients and partners. Your responsibilities include initiating prior authorization requests, identifying the correct forms, coordinating with prescribers, following up on requests, and communicating status updates to patients and providers. You will also handle appeals and respond to internal inquiries. This role is crucial in helping make medications more affordable for Americans. This is an onsite role at Robinson Township, Pittsburgh.
Must have:
  • Initiate new prior authorization requests.
  • Identify correct prior authorization forms.
  • Coordinate with prescribers and offices.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Customer service or call center experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good technical skills and attention to detail.
  • Work shifts from 8am-8pm.

  • 1+ year experience with prior authorizations or insurance verification.

We are looking for you to join our Prior Authorization team to raise the bar on our customer service we provide to our patients and partners. This is your opportunity to join a health-tech enterprise focused on making medications more affordable for all Americans. 

This is a fully onsite role in Robinson Township (Pittsburgh)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the initiation of new prior authorization requests to providers
  • Identify the correct prior authorization form required for the patient’s insurance provider 
  • Coordinate with prescribers and medical offices to ensure applicable information is translated onto prior authorization forms
  • Follow up with medical offices to check the status of prior authorization requests
  • Assist with communicating the status of prior authorizations to both patients and providers
  • Coordinate with medical offices to handle Appeals
  • Respond to internal questions from other departments related to prior authorization requests

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
  • Customer service or inbound call center experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound technical skills, analytical ability, attention to detail, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • A passion for providing top-notch patient care
  • Ability to work with peers in a team effort and cross-functionally
  • Must be flexible to work shifts ranging from 8am - 8pm. 
  • Full time position, on-site in our Robinson location

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year(s) working with prior authorizations or insurance verification in a pharmacy
  • Knowledge of pharmacy benefits and pharmacy claims

Hours/Location:

  • Shift: 40hours/week ( rotational shifts between 9am-8pm) 
    • Rotating schedules from 9am-5pm EST and 10am-6pm EST with 12pm-8pm EST shift around every two months
    • *** All shifts require rotational Saturday shift 9am-5pm***
  • Onsite full time position in Robinson Township
