In the upcoming months our studio’s size will increase as we are working on a couple of new projects. The most well-known one is "The Amazing World of Gumball". We need a pipeline for about 70-90 people who will work together in Ludwigsburg. Having produced 240 episodes between 2008 and 2018, we are now preparing for a fresh new season! Five of our colleagues have set up our animation production pipeline. Since they also have to focus on other tasks they can only work part-time to improve our pipeline. We need help! The Job We need a TD to extend, sort and refactor our existing system. Our current setup is simple, scattered and deeply linked to the existing 3D asset. We work in Maya, Animate CC and After Effects. We use Shot Grid and are on Python-3. If you are up for an exciting mix of dimensions “Gumball” could be interesting to you! The show has 3D characters that have rigged image sequences in their facial setup and it has 2D characters driving around in 3D cars. Three Key Questions for Interested Applicants
- Do you understand the value of legacy-code and are not afraid to learn about the weird problems that it solves?
- Can you carefully test and restructure old solutions?
- Are you able to suggest, plan and execute broad pipeline changes together with the team?
If so, we would be very happy to hear from you! Knowledge and Skill Set
- Solid knowledge of Python for Maya and Nuke
- Solid knowledge of Java Script for Animate CC and After Effects
- Solid knowledge of Shotgrid
- Good knowledge of GIT is advantageous
- Skills in PyQt / PySide are advantageous
- Ability to work independently in a highly motivated team with the focus on supporting the artists in their day-to-day production
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
