Job Summary
Job Description
The Platform Engineering Lead at Smilegate Holdings will design, build, and operate a Kubernetes and Istio-based service platform for globally distributed games. Responsibilities include managing multi-cluster and hybrid cloud environments, implementing CI/CD pipelines (GitOps, ArgoCD), automating monitoring and logging (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.), and ensuring platform security (Kubernetes RBAC, Istio mTLS). The role also involves team leadership, defining technical roadmaps, and collaborating with development and operations teams to optimize the platform and developer experience. The ideal candidate possesses extensive Kubernetes and Istio experience, along with expertise in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and SRE principles.
Must have:
- 5+ years Kubernetes platform experience
- Istio or similar service mesh experience
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- CI/CD and GitOps experience
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience
- Monitoring and logging system experience
Good to have:
- Experience with large-scale traffic
- eBPF, Cilium experience
- Developer Experience (DX) improvement
- OpenStack experience

1. 서비스 플랫폼 설계 및 운영
- Kubernetes(K8s) 클러스터 및 Istio 서비스 메쉬의 설계, 구축, 운영 및 최적화
- 멀티 클러스터 및 하이브리드 클라우드 환경 운영 및 관리
- 서비스 디스커버리, 트래픽 관리, 보안 정책 적용을 위한 Istio 활용
2. K8s, Istio관련 자동화 정책 구축 및 운영 관리
- CI/CD 파이프라인 구축 및 최적화(GitOps, ArgoCD 등)
- 서비스 프로비저닝 및 관리(Infrastructure as Code)
- 자동화된 모니터링 및 로깅 시스템 연동(Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK 등)
- K8s 및 서비스 메쉬 보안 정책 적용(Kubernetes RBAC, Istio mTLS, 네트워크 폴리시 등)
3. 팀 리딩 및 기술 방향성 설정
- 플랫폼 엔지니어링 팀의 기술 로드맵 수립 및 실행
- 개발 및 운영 팀과의 협업을 통해 플랫폼 개선 및 개발자 경험 최적화
- 최신 클라우드 네이티브 및 DevOps 트렌드 연구 및 도입
자격요건
- 5년 이상의 Kubernetes 기반 플랫폼 운영 경험
- Istio 또는 다른 서비스 메쉬 솔루션 운영 경험
- 클라우드(AWS, GCP, Azure) 환경에서의 인프라 구축 및 운영 경험
- CloudNative 및 DevOps 관련 기술에 대한 깊은 이해
- Infrastructure as Code(Terraform, Helm, Kustomize 등) 활용 경험
- CI/CD 및 GitOps 운영 경험(GitlabCI, ArgoCD 등)
- 모니터링 및 로깅 시스템 운영 경험(Prometheus, Grafana, ELK 등)
- SRE 원칙 및 운영 자동화 경험
