Elsewhere Entertainment is looking for a Principal Lighting Artist to join the development of a new IP.
Feed your creativity while collaborating with our team of highly skilled developers to build something innovative, exhilarating, and expansively entertaining!
As a member of the Art department, you’ll help establish the overall look and feel of the game's lighting, ensuring it aligns with the art direction. Your work will add to the atmosphere of our game and support different gameplay elements and cinematics. Lastly, you will contribute to innovations in techniques and processes to improve project quality.
As a member of the project, you’ll help take the studio and our game from great to even better—with a focus on inclusivity, mutual respect (for ourselves and our players), thoughtfulness, empathy, professionalism, and collaboration.
You’ll help us by…
Lighting key areas of our game experience with performant techniques through a combination of real-time light actors and post process features
Determining a strong set of lighting rulesets for a wide variety of natural and urban environments
Championing the art of lighting and bridge communication between art, design and engineering.
Defining project vision for lighting and methods of execution that can scale into production
Developing lighting states for a system of dynamically changing lighting and weather situations
Advising on future improvements and implementation of cutting-edge technology
Mentoring less experienced lighting art members on the team
You’re awesome because you have…
Proven experience (7+ years) in lighting and/or technical art & rendering
Experience of working with large scale open-world projects
A passion for cinematic storytelling through lighting, color and mood of a scene
An excellent eye for beauty in lighting art and a drive to improve quality
Experience working with post process features like lens effects and color correction
Expert knowledge of physical lighting units, camera exposure and linear space rendering
Deep understanding of real-time shading and rendering techniques
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a development team spread across different time zones
Knowledge of performant lighting techniques for real-time rendering and optimization
Ambitions to pursue the latest and greatest in technological advancements

Insight in final image output concepts such as color management and tone mapping of the render pipeline
