We seek a highly skilled and experienced Principal Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore. This position is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of RHEL, KVM, and OpenStack environments. The candidate will be instrumental in integrating new hardware, debugging, supporting open-source software, and leading a team of platform engineers to ensure efficient and innovative platform solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of platform engineers in the development, implementation, and optimization of platform solutions.
Oversee the integration of new hardware into existing networks and systems while ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Debug and provide expert-level support for OpenStack and other open-source platforms.
Develop and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and other tools to facilitate seamless delivery of software products.
Design and implement robust database solutions using PostgreSQL.
Ensure the security and stability of platform architecture through proactive assessment and upgrades.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align platform engineering strategies with overall business objectives.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in technology, applying insights to drive continuous improvement.

Desired skills & experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in platform engineering with a proven track record in a similar leadership role
Extensive experience with RHEL, KVM, and OpenStack environments.
Proficient in programming languages such as Python and Java.
In-depth knowledge of Jenkins, delivery pipelines, and PostgreSQL.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team of engineers.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with various stakeholders and external partners.
