The Principal Software Engineer will spearhead Reporting and Insights initiatives in ShareFile. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications using C# and .NET Core. Responsibilities include architecting high-performance applications, leading design and development, mentoring junior engineers, implementing security best practices, and collaborating with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of software solutions and ensure solutions meet quality standards. The role requires the engineer to communicate complex findings and prepare reports. The candidate will also be expected to stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Collaborating with cross-functional teams is vital for this position.
Must have:
- 10+ years of C# and .net core experience
- Experience with cloud platforms – AWS
- Software architecture and design patterns knowledge

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Software Engineer to spearhead our Reporting and Insights initiatives in ShareFile. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on-technical leader responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and high-performance applications using C# and .net Core. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions that meet business requirements and drive technological advancements.
In this role, you will:
- Lead Design and development:
- Architect high-performance, reliable, and secure applications
- Take charge of designing and developing complex software systems using C# and .NET Core.
- Ensure that the software solutions are scalable, maintainable, and meet the highest quality standards.
- Make critical decisions on technology stack, frameworks, and tools to be used in the development process.
- Participate in planning and prioritization of development activities
- Process and Practices:
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Conduct code reviews, share best practices, and help improve the overall skill sets of the team.
- Implement security best practices to protect applications from vulnerabilities
- Ensure that the software solutions comply with relevant regulatory requirements
- Communicate complex technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prepare reports and presentations to effectively convey data-driven solutions and insights.
- Collaboration & Strategy:
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define and prioritize key business problems that needs to be addressed and make sure features are delivered on time with high quality standards.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment within the team.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and business stakeholders.
Your background:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in related field(s)
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong focus on C# and .net core.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale, reliable, and secure software solutions.
- Experience with cloud platforms – AWS and containerization technologies
- Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
- Working knowledge of all aspects of software development lifecycle
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
