Job Description

The Process Engineer - Machining role involves designing and developing machining processes for new and existing products, focusing on high yield, efficiency, and quality. This includes continuous process improvement, leading new product introductions, selecting tooling and equipment, and ensuring quality control. The engineer will troubleshoot issues, document processes, collaborate with teams, and provide training. The role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, CNC programming, and problem-solving skills. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process Development: Design and develop machining processes for new and existing products, ensuring high yield, optimal efficiency and quality.
  • Optimization: Continuously analyze and improve machining processes to improve yield, enhance productivity, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • New Production Introduction: Lead the introduction of new products into the machining process, ensuring smooth transitions from prototype to full-scale production.
  • Tooling and Equipment: Select and implement appropriate tooling and equipment for machining operations, ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality control standards and procedures to ensure products meet or exceed specifications.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to machining processes, equipment, and tooling.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, including work instructions, process flows, and control plans.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in machining process engineering or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming and operation.
  • Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Working Conditions

  • Office, machine shop and laboratory environments.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
