Job Description

The Process Technician II is responsible for operating machinery, assisting in the production of quality products, supporting process and product developments, and driving continuous improvements. They must understand FEP extrusion and expander processes, provide technical understanding to employees, and maintain standards. Responsibilities include monitoring product quality, driving continuous improvement, and providing technical support for product developments. The technician also facilitates the company's business model at the production floor level and supports departmental KPIs.
Must have:
  • Understanding of FEP materials, processes, and test methods.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to use systems like IFS and MS Office.
  • Strong written skills for documenting processes and results.
  • Ability to plan and organize multiple priorities.

Job Summary

FEP Process Technician II is responsible and authorized to operate machinery, assists in the process to produce quality finished product, supports process & product developments, and drives continuous improvements.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and sustains technical understanding of FEP Extrusion and expander.
  • Provides technical understanding to qualifying FEP employees. Provides technical assessments as directed.
  • Owns the methods, machine (& tooling), measure, mother nature, man standards (work instructions) to reflect current best practice.
  • Supports the department's focus on Environmental, Health, and safety (Journey-To-Zero) by shifting EHS exposures up the Control Hierarchy (PPE --> Elimination).
  • Owns RCCAPA (Root Cause, Corrective Action / Preventive Action) as assigned.
  • Monitors the quality of the product being produced to ensure all proper workmanship standards are met to meet COPQ and OTD goals. Capture information in audits
  • Drives continuous improvement & cost reductions through assign project work and actions.
  • Facilitates NBS's Next business model at the production floor level and support achievement of departmental KPI's.
  • Provides technical support of process and product developments. Collect and analyze results of trials.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred
  • May require 3-5 years of applicable (FEP) experience.
  • Advanced Knowledge of mechanical functions of process, materials, and their interactions.

Skills and Abilities

  • Understanding of FEP materials, Process, Test Methods, and Work Instructions.
  • Strong troubleshooting & analytical skills which permit data-based conclusions.
  • Abilities to use systems such as IFS, MS Office suite, departmental applications.
  • Strong written skills. Abilities to summarize trial & RCCAPA work and write & update work instructions.
  • Abilities to plan & organize multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Approachable and relationship-oriented with the ability to coach, transfer technical skills, and develop others.
  • High level of passion and enthusiasm to lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts on the production floor.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization.
