Job Description

Escape Velocity seeks a skilled First-Party Producer to oversee development and delivery of high-quality experiences on first-party platforms (PlayStation, Xbox, etc.). Responsibilities include leading daily production, managing project scope and timelines, acting as liaison between development teams and platform holders, collaborating with stakeholders, and proactively identifying and mitigating risks. The ideal candidate has 5+ years' experience in game production or a related field, strong project management skills, leadership abilities, excellent communication, and technical knowledge of first-party console platforms and game development lifecycle. Experience with project management tools (Jira, Asana, Trello), version control (Git), and Agile/Scrum methodologies is required.

What we are looking for:

 

We are looking for a skilled First Party Producer to join us. As a First-Party Producer, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of high-quality experiences on first-party platforms (e.g., PlayStation, Xbox, etc.). You will act as the primary liaison between the development team and first-party platform holders, ensuring that projects meet all necessary requirements while aligning with the vision and goals of the stakeholders.

What we will do together:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day production of first-party projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.
  • Define, track, and manage project scope, timelines, and milestones, adapting to changes and risks as they arise.
  • Oversee and manage project schedules, ensuring all deadlines and milestones are met while maintaining quality.
  • Create, iterate, and track schedules and processes for game features and assets.
  • Act as the main point of contact between internal development teams and external first-party platform holders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the project to ensure alignment across all departments.
  • Organize and facilitate rituals with stakeholders to provide updates, gather feedback, and address concerns.
  • Proactively identify risks and issues that may impact project timelines, quality, or budget, and implement solutions to mitigate those risks.

What you will bring:

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in game production, software development, or relevant industry experience with a strong understanding of the first-party platform ecosystem (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, etc.).
  • Project Management Skills: Proven track record of managing and leading projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, and milestone tracking, with the ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead, motivate, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, both internal and external, including game developers, designers, and engineers.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders, including first-party platform representatives, publishers, and development teams.

 

Technical Knowledge:

  • Platform Knowledge: Familiarity with the technical specifications, certification processes, and submission requirements of first-party consoles (e.g., PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo).
  • Game Development Lifecycle: A solid understanding of the game development process from concept to post-launch, including design, testing, QA, and distribution.
  • Tools & Software: Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello), version control systems (e.g., Git), and software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
