Job Description

As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for designing user flows, executing designs, and contributing to the overall look and feel of the application through the company design system. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, work independently, and own the design process from research to execution. Responsibilities include defining the application's look and feel, collaborating with teams, seeking information from analytics, executing pixel-perfect designs, and working with engineering and product managers. You will also be a champion for design best practices and represent the brand from a design perspective. You will be working in an environment based on trust, autonomy and collaboration.
Must have:
  • Extensive experience as a visual or product designer
  • Experience in application design or visual tools like Figma
  • Experience designing for B2B products
  • Ability to work across various teams on tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills to convey rationale
  • Highly organized to build durable design processes
  • Self-motivated with ability to manage milestones
  • Comfortable with design tools like Figma, Adobe Suite
  • A digital portfolio showcasing interactive work

In this specific role, you’d be taking on a broad set of design requests from our product teams focused from working on user flows to executing pixel perfect designs. In many cases, your designs will be one of the first experiences our users have with the brand.

Some projects we are currently working on

    • Redefining a product design system for all of Flawless’ product portfolio
    • Refining UI components of our design system.
    • Helping establish the look and feel of our in app communications
    • Harmonising how colour is used across the product
    • Email templates 
    • Support user testing by mocking up prototypes 
    • Working with product and engineering teams
    • Supporting customer success by designing engaging documentation and onboarding collateral

Future Areas of work also likely to include

    • Building UI modules new product offerings
    • Compiling a list of backlog of must have UIUX enhancements
    • A/B testing of landing pages and creative collateral

Responsibilities

    • Responsible for helping define the application look and feel through maintenance of the company design system
    • Collaborate — Work with cross-functional teams to produce high quality and brand-appropriate design experiences across all our surfaces.
    • Autonomy — seek additional information from analytics or stakeholders, work independently with cross-functional partners, and work with engineers, marketing and the creative team to execute pixel-perfect designs and interactions
    • Process — execute on a defined direction/strategy, owning the process from need-finding to execution: coordinating research (stakeholder interviews, ideation, competitor auditing), analyze and hypothesize, create multiple wireframes and user flows, execute perfect visual designs, work with engineering and product managers on implementation.

Requirements

    • Extensive experience as a visual or product designer
    • Ideally some experience in application design or the design of visual tools, e.g. Figma, Tableau etc  
    • Must have experience designing for B2B products
    • Ability to be multi-disciplinary and fast, working across a variety of different teams, many on tight deadlines
    • Ability to effectively trade off priorities and balance across various teams
    • Ability to work closely with people from product, marketing and creative to effectively understand design requirements and deliver and execute concepts and campaigns for our customers 
    • A digital portfolio that displays a visually stunning array of interactive work showcasing your grasp of branding, typography, color, grid, scale, balance, design system experience and hierarchy
    • Excellent communication skills: you can easily convey your rationale and thought process to any audience
    • Organization: you are highly organized and can help us build out durable design processes and rituals.
    • Self-motivated: We make sure our designers are well equipped for success and expect you to manage your own milestones, deadlines and priorities
    • You are comfortable with the tools of the trade and can move across them depending on the task at hand: Figma,  Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Miro, Trello, Google Suite, After Effects, etc.
    • An understanding of film or the entertainment industry would be welcome

Interview Process:
At Flawless, our team and interview process want to help you show your best self. We’ll dive into past projects and simulate working together.
Our interview process is three rounds with some casual Zoom (or in-person) coffee in between to get to know each other: 
- Recruiting Screen: 30-45 minute call with our recruiting team (We want to discuss your interests and motivations as well as the practical details and make sure that Flawless would be a good fit for you)
- Hiring Manager Screen: 45-60 minutes over Zoom 
- Case Study Interview:  60-90 minutes onsite Interview where you will meet variety of your potential future colleagues 

Your Recruiter and hiring manager will be your main point of contact and prepare you for interviews. You’ll meet 4 to 6 people from across the business. (We make sure that you have time in each interview to ask them questions). If we don’t give an offer, we’ll provide feedback!
