Job Description

A Product Engineer drives New Product Introduction (NPI) and Sustaining Engineering efforts across a portfolio of gaming peripherals, components, and systems. Responsibilities include collaborating with ODM/OEM partners to ensure manufacturing quality, incorporating customer feedback, and bridging design, manufacturing, and quality. The role involves managing product development from prototype to mass production, troubleshooting production issues, analyzing field failure data, and implementing corrective actions. The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with internal teams and external suppliers to achieve high standards of quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness. This includes assisting with regulatory compliance testing and continuously improving existing products through data analysis and customer feedback.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years experience in product engineering
  • Strong understanding of ODM/OEM collaboration
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA, manufacturing processes
  • Experience with failure analysis and corrective actions
  • Familiarity with quality tools and compliance standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good to have:
  • Experience with gaming peripherals or consumer electronics
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles
  • Familiarity with firmware/software integration
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance (FCC, CE, UL, RoHS, REACH)

Job Description

A Product Engineer drives New Product Introduction (NPI) and Sustaining Engineering efforts across our portfolio of gaming peripherals, components, and systems. This role will be responsible for working closely with ODM/OEM partners, ensuring manufacturing quality, and incorporating customer feedback to enhance product performance, reliability, and user experience. The ideal candidate will bridge design, manufacturing, and quality, ensuring products transition smoothly from concept to mass production while continuously improving and optimizing existing products. This role requires cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers to achieve high standards of quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness

Position Summary, Responsibilities and Expectations:

New Product Introduction (NPI):
 Collaborate with ODM/OEM partners to drive product development from prototype through mass production.
 Work with R&D teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet performance expectations.
 Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews with engineers and suppliers.
 Oversee the transition from design validation to production (DVT/PVT) phases, and ensure smooth production ramp-up.
 Identify and resolve early-stage quality and performance issues, implementing corrective actions before launch.
 Assist with regulatory compliance testing (FCC, CE, RoHS, etc.) and ensure product certification requirements are met.


Sustaining Engineering & Manufacturing Support:
 Monitor ongoing production quality and implement design improvements to enhance reliability and manufacturability.
 Work with manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
Analyze field failure data, RMAs, and customer complaints to identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
 Ensure component obsolescence management, helping to qualify alternative components and suppliers as needed.


Customer Feedback & Product Improvement:
 Gather and analyze customer feedback from support tickets, social media (Reddit, Discord, Twitter), and reviews to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
 Work with Firmware, Software, and Hardware teams to drive enhancements and address usability concerns.
 Provide technical support for major product escalations, working closely with customer service and RMA teams.
 Track and report key product performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement in customer satisfaction and reliability.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications & Skills:
 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related field).
 3+ years of experience in product engineering, manufacturing, or related fields.
 Strong understanding of ODM/OEM collaboration, including managing overseas suppliers and contract manufacturers.
 Knowledge of DFM/DFA, injection molding, PCBA manufacturing, and assembly processes.
 Experience with failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective action implementation.
 Familiarity with quality tools (8D, FMEA, SPC, DOE, etc.) and international compliance standards.
 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Excel, JMP, Minitab, or similar data analysis tools.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners.


Preferred Qualifications:
 Experience working with gaming peripherals, PC components, or high-end consumer electronics.
 Understanding of mechanical and electrical design principles for consumer electronics.
 Familiarity with firmware/software integration into hardware products.
 Knowledge of regulatory compliance (FCC, CE, UL, RoHS, REACH, etc.).
 Mandarin, Vietnamese, Thai, or another language proficiency for working with overseas manufacturers is a plus.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in Milpitas, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  

Annual Salary Range $135,000—$150,000 USD
